Registration Benefits
Why Register?
It is important that as a learner driver, you get the on-road driving experience you need to help you become a competent driver. This logbook can be used as a record that you have completed the mandatory 100 hours driving experience including at least 10 hours night driving experience.
Note: Night driving experience means experience gained between sunset on one day and sunrise on the next day.
If you are a learner driver under 25 years of age, it is a mandatory requirement that you complete 100 hours of supervised on-road driving experience, including 10 hours night driving, before taking the Q-safe practical driving test for a provisional licence. If you are a learner driver 25 years of age or over, it is not a requirement but is highly recommended that you complete 100 hours for experience.
Your 100 hours driving experience must be gained within the three years prior to lodging your logbook. You must have completed and recorded your 100 hours driving experience (including the 10 hours night driving experience) in your logbook before you lodge it. You cannot take your practical driving test until you have lodged your completed logbook and it has been assessed and passed.
Both you and your supervisor/s will be responsible for making sure all logbook entries are correct. Each entry must be verified by your accredited driver trainer or supervisor. Penalties may apply to learner drivers and their supervisors for inaccurate entries.
