Recommended Driving Schools
Are you learning to drive? Learner drivers must have logged 100 hours of supervised on-road driving before they can go for their licence. The Queensland Government are allowing the first 10 hours of lessons with an accredited driving school instructor, to count as 30 hours in your logbook.

When you want to start driving lessons and are looking for a driving instructor, don’t assume cheapest is best.
As well as price, you also need to check:
- The driver trainers licence and experience
- How long a 'lesson' is
- Whether your driver trainer will monitor your progress using an experience log
- Whether they follow a structured approach with defined objectives
The RACQ's state-wide network of Recommended Driving Schools helps novice drivers take the right steps towards establishing correct driving skills, knowledge and behaviour. These schools also cater for post-licence drivers. All RACQ Recommended Driving Schools abide by our Code of Practice and personal commitment to service.
